Radisson Blu in Edinburgh Refurbished with Sealco’s Hardware

The hotel is in the process of replacing all of its windows with new energy efficient, timber framed, sliding sash windows. This style maintains the historic charm of the hotel building, which stands on the renowned Royal Mile in the Scottish capital.

All of the sash window hardware has been supplied by Sealco. Each new hotel room window has a locking sash fastener and matching sash lifts which are finished in chrome. There’s a lot to consider with the new windows, the hotel is on a busy road so noise and traffic fumes are a big factor. The windows need to be easy to open and close for staff and hotel guests, and they require durable hardware to withstand heavy usage.

The Sealco hardware installed at Radisson Blu provides this durability and enhances the traditional look of these new windows. This allows the building to maintain its authentic window style but with better thermal efficiency and higher security than the originals.

Radisson Blu has been carrying out the window refurbishments gradually, closing only a few rooms at any one time, ensuring that they can still provide accommodation for Edinburgh’s tourists and Sealco has been chosen as the window hardware supplier for the duration of the project.
